About Me
Brandon Reed is a sound designer, composer, and audio engineer based in the midwest. His work is primarily based in a theatrical setting, but has worked on sound for video, podcasting, streaming, voice-over, and worked with other artists across multiple disciplines to create interesting projects. As primarily a theatre artist his work has centered around new works, musicals, re imagining classical texts, and working with folks in other mediums to create new and exciting projects.
His work has been heard regionally across the country for theatres such as Goodman Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre Company, American Players Theatre, Cape Fear Regional Theatre, PlayMakers Repertory Company, Constellation Stage & Screen, Barter Theatre, Renaissance Theatreworks, Marriot Theatre, and many others. He was also lucky to have served as the Assistant Sound Designer for Goodnight, Tyler on Broadway under Andre Pluess.
He was also the recipient of the USITT Robert Cohen Sound Achievement Award in 2019. He has also been nominated for several awards such as Joseph Jefferson Awards and Broadway World.
He currently is serving as the Assistant Professor of Sound Design at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.
He holds an MFA in Sound Design & Technology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a BS from Ball State University.
He’s an active member of the Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA), where he serves as one of the two central region representative on the executive board. He’s also a proud member of the United Scenic Artists, USA Local 829.
