About The Play
BEAU is a brand new musical about seven actor-musicians who work together to tell the story of Ace Baker, who spends the first decade of his life without a father figure. One day he a phone call reveals that his "deceased" grandpa Beau has been alive all his life, and his Mama knew. Family secrets unravel as Ace rushes to make up for the lost time with a man who changes his life, and puts a guitar in his hand.

This was one of the most challenging, but fun musicals I've ever designed and mixed (I served as both A1 and designer). Seven actors who interchangeably switched instruments at any point in time. With that in mind I knew the reinforcement of these instruments needed to be wireless and stayed with the instrument to allow for the best possible amount of flexibility. Sound levels were incredibly dynamic ranging from a incredibly loud rock concert to an intimate acoustic number. Other than the drums and keyboard, everything was wireless from the electric guitar to two acoustic guitars, a mandolin, a violin, and an electric bass, which were swapped each song.
